The 50th Annual Meeting of the Societas Linguistica Europaea will be held from the 10th to the 13th of September in the University of Zurich, Switzerland. The Societas Linguistica Europaea (Linguistic Society of Europe) members are Europeans and Non-Europeans. Its purpose is the advancement, in European countries and elsewhere, of the scientific study of language in all its aspects. This year’s meeting will be located in the world’s smallest international metropolis, located in the heart of Europe. It will comprise more than 230 general session talks, 290 workshop presentations and 50 posters.
Ekaterina Rakhilina (together with John E. Joseph and Klaas Willems) will chair the round table ‘Linguistics from Saussure to the 21st century’ at the meeting; Egor Kashkin will give an oral presentation on the topic “Definiteness marking in Moksha”; Olga Vinogradova, Egor Kashkin, Maria Sidorova and Daria Zhornik will present the project «Verbs of closing and opening: towards a lexical typology»; Alexey Kozlov will tell about “Ostensive habituals in Russian, Finno-Ugric and beyond” and, together with Daria Bikina, will give a talk “Matter borrowing followed by pattern borrowing: evidence from Moksha Mordvin and Besermyan Udmurt”.
